Printers Row

This neighborhood overlaps significantly with the officially designated landmark Printing House Row District, and is a popular area for university and college students with its many secondary educational institutions in the area.

About Printers Row

Printers Row is an exciting neighborhood within the much larger South Loop area. The magnificently restored Dearborn Street Station train depot, a historic point of arrival for thousands of immigrants, provides the southern anchor for the Printers Row neighborhood. Once the center of Midwest publishing, Printers Row now boasts its annual Book Fair in June, which features the wares of local publishers and antiquarian volumes from Midwestern booksellers, as well as music and readings.

Printers Row is extremely popular due to its close geographic location to the Loop which allows its residents to walk to and from work. The restaurants, bars, clubs, health clubs and shopping are plentiful, making Printers Row an exciting and vibrant place to live. Grant Park and Lake Michigan are only minutes away on foot, and they only add to the fun that could be there. The housing stock is primarily lofts and luxurious, new construction apartments.
